Biomass

Building the foundations for biomass in the UK.

Biomass has been used for a number of years in the UK and forms a fraction of the UK’s generating capacity. Historically, it was used in the form of co-firing biomass with coal. However, with the decline of fossil fuels biomass has taken on an added significance. To support renewable targets, the UK’s biomass generation capability is expected to increase by 4GW over the next 10 years and PJD Environmental is proud to support the new construction of these facilities.

The UK’s leading biomass contractor for R&M

As the leading contractor within the UK for the repair and maintenance of biomass plants, we have considerable experience in biomass generation. This includes everything from installing new co-firing facilities, to maintaining existing facilities. We also currently maintain around 50% of the UK’s dedicated biomass plants and can provide specialist support with a range of fuels.
