Although utilising non-recyclable waste has been a contentious issue for many years, energy-from-waste (EfW) plants are expected to provide a key element in the government’s strategy to reduce landfill.
PJD Environmental is one of the few independent mechanical contractors to have successfully installed a new EfW plant in the UK. As the leading mechanical installation contractor at the Lakeside EfW Station, we ensured that this complex £160m project was completed on a right-first-time basis and to the satisfaction of the regulatory body. We additionally made over 26,000 pressure welds, with 100% welder and consumable traceability and a 0% LTA and environmental incident rate.
We have since expanded our services to include the installation and erection of private finance initiatives (PFI) and the maintenance of existing EfW facilities. We have also formed strong relationships with key contractors responsible for building new energy-from-waste plants.
